DD18 Rally Race Format: The DD18 Race will be held at Mt. Bachelor, Oregon on December 19-20-21, 2025. Exact race location will be based on current snow and weather conditions on the mountain. Each racer receives one timed run down the Green (or Red) course on Saturday and one timed run down opposite course Sunday for a combined Final Time. The daily Course Inspection Schedule will be posted daily at 9:00am at the Race Start (starting Friday). Schedule is based on current course, weather and safety conditions. Individual practice runs are not guaranteed. DD18 Awards Ceremony will be around 3pm at Mt. Bachelor (with full results posted online at 2pm).
DD18 Helmet Policy: Racers are now required to wear a helmet while racing and practicing in the Dirksen Derby. Please wear your helmet with pride and style at the DD18.
DD18 Registration Rules: The Dirksen Derby 18 will be capped at 500 total racers with an equal number of spots available to male and female competitors. There are 25 divisions with a maximum of 50 spots per division. Pre-Registration begins on May 1st, 2025. Open Registration will begin at 9am PST on October 2nd, 2025 at DirksenDerby.com.
Derby Elite Divisions: The in-person registration for all Derby Elite Pro Men & Women will begin at Tactics in Bend on December 18th, 2025. There will be no on-line registration this year. Pros only. For more information, please email info@dirksenderby.com.
DD18 Invited Racers include:
- Top 30% from the DD17 @ Mt. Bachelor (email invites sent out around May 1st, 2025)
- 1st place at any previous Dirksen Derby or Legendary Baker Banked Slalom race *
- Top-10 at 2025 Snake Run Rally @ Hoodoo Ski Area (all divisions, spots non-transferable) *
- 1st Place 2025 Pump Bump Jam at Bend Winterfest (mens & womens divisions) *
- 1st place at 2025 Bombhole Cup @ Brighton Ski Area (banked slalom race divisions only, spots non-transferable) *
- Selected racers from the 2025 Soy Sauce Nationals, Side Surfers, SnowGhost, Doug E. Fresh or Don Baker banked slalom races *
